Global Warming

http://www.spectator.co.uk/the-magazine/features/3755623/meet-the-man-who-has-exposed-the-great-climate-change-con-trick.thtml

Global warming is a lie. The people who believe it are full of crap.

I know...sometimes I'm not direct enough.

Aloha.

Hi, I'm a good advertising campaign

Apparently, the Microsoft commercials are having an impact. Good!

I had a lot more here, but in deference to some people I know who like them, I deleted it and will leave it at that.

Aloha.

Abortion

First, read two articles:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/12/magazine/12ginsburg-t.html

then

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-goldberg14-2009jul14,1,7388484.column

The most important part from the New York Times:

"Q: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong."

Again, "there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of."

Does anyone need a clearer statement than that? If you think abortion is about the right to choose, you're wrong. It is about getting rid of the "populations that we don't want to have too many of." Lucky for us, the government doesn't have to kill those babies. The government can put out a propaganda campaign and convince the mothers that their lives will be better if the get rid of the "problem." Then it is their "choice." See...the government isn't killing all of the minority babies...their mothers are making choices about their reproductive health.

How disgusting!

Another interesting bigoted quote: "JUSTICE GINSBURG: The Legislature can make the change, can facilitate the change, as laws like the Family Medical Leave Act do. But it’s not something a court can decree. A court can’t tell the man, You’ve got to do more than carry out the garbage."

So, what if a male justice had said "A court can't tell the woman, You've got to get up off the couch and stop watching soaps and do some housework." Do you think he would have gotten a pass on that? So, why should she?

These people make me ill.
